Concrete Base:
Possibly the most expensive and permanent option. We would recommend a professional or experienced DIY person to undertake this type of base
Slabs:
Turf would need to be cut away from the area. A thin layer of sand or dry sand cement mix would be spread level into the cutting and slabs laid on top of this
This can make an interesting feature for your garden if extended beyond the floor area of the house which it will accommodate. Possibly the easiest option if the house is to be seated on an excessively sloped area. Please see some of the designs we offer. For prices on our Decking base please contact us
Shingle/Gravel:
It should go without saying that the solid base area should be perfectly flat and level. To ensure this an essential tool would be a spirit level, reasonably priced and readily available at all DIY stores. If you have specified assembly by Outdoorplay we regret to inform customers that if a base is not to an acceptable standard, we reserve the right to refuse assembly. Charges for assembly would be deducted from the balance, and a copy of the build instruction would be supplied for self assembly. If we were required to revisit at a later date to assemble, additional travel costs would be incurred. We will also require at least 12 inches of space around the house on each face to make it possible to assemble. It is of course an option to push the house a few inches into position after the build if there is space on 2-3 sides only when in final position.
Other important notes
Please bear in mind access both for delivery and for the actual build process. In flat pack form these items are roughly 6/7ft square, dependant on model, and therefore we will need access that would accommodate such. Surcharges will be made if the site of the build is not within a reasonable distance of available parking for our delivery vehicle, or if the house has to be carried up flights of steps or over neighbours’ fences to reach the site. If you are in any doubt please ask us before the delivery date.
